This summer has been a whirlwind of change as I transition into life after college. This September marks the first year that I will not be going "back to school" in 17 years....but I want a new backpack and calendar!! Just kidding. Although I do have a hard time walking through the school supplies section at Target without wanting to buy new pens and notebooks. This fall I will have no syllabi, no searching for the best deals on textbooks, no big move-in day, no homework, no study guides, no papers. Hmmm, this might not be so bad :)
I will be continuing my work at the day care and at church so I'm definitely going to be busy, but I'm looking forward to every moment of it. I've been working full time this summer, learning so much about administrative tasks in the office at the day care and refining my skills with children. I am reminded on almost a daily basis that my calling is to work with young children in any capacity. I love my kiddos so much, sometimes I feel like they're my own! This afternoon a 4 year old winked at me and told me to have a good weekend. They always make me smile, that's for sure! I love walking into the 1 year old class and being bombarded with five little ones climbing into my arms to give me hugs (and occasionally some sloppy kisses). All in all I love my jobs and am so excited for the year ahead.
This summer two of my roomies were married, one in Idaho and one in San Diego and I was blessed to be bridesmaids in both weddings. I'm so happy for them and this new adventure called marriage they're embarking on. I know they were just the firsts of many years of attending weddings ahead of me. I also spent a week and a half at home in California, enjoying the warmth (108 degrees, warm is an understatement!) laying out by the pool, going to Disneyland and the beach, seeing lots of family, and just enjoying vacation! It was a great trip, but its always nice to get back to a normal routine.
I wish I could post some pictures, but my computer is a little out of sorts, not turning on properly. Good thing I have a wonderful tech-savvy boyfriend who can fix it for me! Someday I will post pics from this summer, but for now it feels good to be back in the blogging world, even of there are only two or three people reading what I write :)
